A Message from your Regional Representative:

Welcome to the Region 5 webpage.  I currently teach 5th grade in Bunker Hill, Illinois.  I have taught for over 25 years and feel strongly about the importance of advocating for Social Studies education.  Below are some resources that may be helpful to you.  Contact me with additional resources that can be added to our list below.

Sincerely,
Cheryl Best

Persida Himmele
Sold by: Amazon.com LLC
$18.73

This is a teacher friendly book that lays out some new and tried and tested techniques that will help your students become active learners and to think more deeply. It is for all subjects but has some good Historical thinking ideas too. I recommend this book for a new or an old teacher like me who wants to learn some great techniques to inspire and engage your students.
