A Message from your Regional Representative:

Welcome to the ICSS Region 4 page!  From Bloomington, Champaign, Danville, Decatur, and the many wonderful communities in between, the places and people of Region 4 has had a tremendous impact on the state of Illinois! I am excited to help connect you to the geographic, economic, and social history of Region 4 for your students to learn about. My name is Drew Monkemeyer and I am the Region 4 representative. I currently teach Social Studies at Concordia Lutheran School in Peoria. It is my role to serve as advocate for Social Studies Education in and beyond Region 4.  Below are opportunities and resources that may enhance Social Studies Education in our classrooms.

You are welcome to contact me with ICSS questions, lesson plan ideas, and upcoming opportunities attractive to K-12 Social Studies teachers in our region.
