Constitution of the Illinois Council for the Social Studies
As the Constitution of the Illinois Council for the Social Studies reaches the 50 year mark a Constitutional Committee was convened to amend the constitution to meet the needs of the 21st century. Over the course of the past two summers, committee members worked diligently to update the document to meet the organization's needs and goals. The amended constitution linked below increases accountability, better defines officer roles and terms, and add creates a more inclusive Board. The current Board has already reviewed the changes and approved them unanimously. After the Fall conference, all active members will vote on the 2024 Constitution.
